SOIL FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT

Soil genesis, commonly termed pedogenesis, is the complex process by which soils are formed. This protracted transformation involves the combination of numerous influences, including weather, topography, parent material, vegetation, and time. These variables interact in a coordinated manner to shape the physical, chemical, and biological properties
